While visiting Vancouver for the holidays, Carly stopped by her old workplace, “Trees Organic Coffee”. According to Wikipedia, she worked there at as a barista and pastry chef assistant and started its open-mic night. Jepsen describes this as “the happiest time in her life” where she slept on a pull-out sofa, wrote songs in her downtime with a guitar her parents gifted and “performed multiple nights a week at musician-friendly holes in the wall”.
